If you want to hike some elevation and get some history under your belt, this is the place to go. Just across the river from Harper's Ferry, WV is the remains of a Civil War fort used to protect Harpers Ferry and guard the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. The vertical on this hike will leave you sore, but the views from the top of the hill will help you forget your pain.
Hiked this on May 27, 2012 with a small pack.
